Basic Roller Derby Skills presented by Mad Rollin' Dolls
A great line up of MRD All-stars will be teaching you basic skating technique, balance, agility, stopping, and partner work designed to prepare you for recreational skating or roller derby. In addition to on-skate fun, we will also spend time off-skates talking about what it takes to play roller derby and teamwork, and doing some off-skate exercises. This one day clinic is open to both women and men and is non-contact.

Hazed and Contused
Hazed and Contused has been playing derby for 4 years, and coaching/captaining for 3 years. She has coached classes in Ireland, Arizona, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, various places around Wisconsin, and Rollercon 2012. Currently Hazer contributes her time to coaching bootcamps for various leagues on the weekends (including 4 classes booked at Rollercon 2013), fulfilling the Training Manager role for the Mad Rollin' Dolls, and captain of the Dairyland Dolls.
Mack the Knife
Mack the Knife is a 7 year veteran skater with the Unholy Rollers and the Dairyland Dolls. She served as Training Manager for the Mad Rollin' Dolls in 2012, and has achieved several awards throughout her derby career recognizing her aggressive play, agility, and burst speed.
Pretty Reckless
Reckless has been an active member with MRD since 2010. She is currently bench manages and coaches for the Dairyland Dolls A-team and home team, the Reservoir Dolls, and has since her rookie season. She is the captain of the Dairyland Dolls B-team for the 2013-14 season.

Skating Technique and Endurance
Balance and Agility
Get the basics to shred the track here! This class builds on basic skate technique and focuses on the fundamentals of balance and agility. Learn to cut, stop, hop and more on two skates or one! Includes some off-skates exercises to take home with you.
Mental Toughness and Teamwork
This course will explore the dynamics of teamwork and mental toughness both on and off the track. The varying perspectives and interactions between coaches and skaters will be explored. Mental preparation, visualization, and communication will also be discussed. Group participation will be encouraged!
Stopping techniques and Partnerwork
This class will teach the ins and outs of speed control and skating in proximity of others. Learn how to stop, burst, and use a partner to dominate the track.

On Skates Participants: $65.00 (limited spots available)
Off-skates Observer $30.00 (unlimited spots available)

Eligibility
This event is open to both female and male participants. No past skating experience necessary. You must be 21 years of age. All participants (skating or watching) will be required to sign an insurance waiver.

How Many Skaters/Observers are in the Clinic?
Spots fill up fast! Our Clinics are capped at 40 on-skates participants. However, we have unlimited spots open for observing and taking notes. Observing is a great option if you are a new league and looking for drills, curious about roller derby, or if you are currently injured |
